‘Playing With Memories’ is the Proceedings of the International Online Conference held between 14-22 December 2020. It includes papers by renowned researchers as well as young enthusiasts from India and abroad. Important contributions include a hypothesis of the origin of games, the documentation of oral and living history of games of the yesteryears, the application of artificial intelligence in modelling the rules of ancient games to the making of new games based on historical events. It also includes the contribution of INSTUCEN Trust towards making ancient games known again to a new generation of Indians. Playing with Memories is a valuable addition to any board games scholars’s bookshelf, and opens more areas of research into a relatively ignored aspect of South Asian antiquity.
