The INSTUCEN School of Archaeology was established under the aegis of the INSTUCEN Trust in 2021 to promote archaeological education and research.
Since its inception, INSTUCEN School of Archaeology has played a vital role in creating platforms for scholars, students, and enthusiasts to engage with archaeological and related fields. It is renowned for hosting key events like the Annual Explorations in Maharashtra Workshop, the International Archaeology of Maharashtra Conferences, and the Geology and Archaeology Mega-Exhibition at University of Mumbai, all of which have gained substantial recognition within academic and public circles. These initiatives provided an opportunity for professional archaeologists and amateurs alike to present their findings and collaborate on research.
In addition to conferences and workshops, INSTUCEN has also led archaeological excavations at significant sites like Chandore and Mandad in Maharashtra. The school’s work extends beyond traditional archaeology, fostering multidisciplinary approaches by integrating studies of geology, biodiversity, and even ancient games. Through its array of programs, both online and offline, and a commitment to inclusive education, INSTUCEN has empowered over 8,000 students across the country, making it a pioneering institution in archaeological education in India.
