Researcher, Ancient Indian Culture and Art History
Sharmila Phadke is a freelance writer, art history scholar, critic and translator. After completing her post-graduate studies in botany from Mumbai University, she turned her passion into her profession by training in journalism and art history. She is currently engaged in the study and research of Ancient Indian Culture and Art History. She has written research based articles for various publications on art, travel and literature over the last 15 years. She is associated with the annual art publication 'Chinh' as its executive editor. Her novel 'Four Seasons', based on the theme of human-environment interaction, was published by Mehta Publications last year. So far, eight books translated by her have been published by Popular Prakashan and Mehta Publications. She is currently working on a book that will trace the life and times of artist Raja Ravi Varma.
